Tracy S. James
Tracy S. James is a southern-born Navy brat whose early years were spent moving across the country, adapting to new environments and learning to observe the world around him with curiosity and empathy. Those experiences laid the foundation for his storytelling, shaping his ability to create layered characters and heartfelt narratives rooted in real-life emotion. With a degree from St. Mary’s College of California and a career spent in healthcare administration, Tracy has worked alongside people from every walk of life, listening to their stories, witnessing their struggles, and storing away moments that now breathe life into his fiction.
Tracy writes to explore faith, forgiveness, and the quiet strength it takes to rebuild when everything feels broken. His characters are often flawed, wounded, and wonderfully human, reflecting his belief that hope doesn’t come from perfection, but from persistence, grace, and community. Whether it’s a broken marriage, a fractured family, or the unexpected beauty of second chances, his stories are rooted in the deeply personal and universally relatable.
His writing journey began years ago as a quiet tug, an inner nudge to put words to the stories forming in his heart. Over time, that tug became a calling. Now, with When Promises Break, the first novel in a clean romance trilogy centered on redemption and reconciliation, Tracy is stepping fully into the role of author. He is currently working on A Chord of Grace, a novel inspired by his years singing with church choirs and gospel artists, a behind-the-curtain look at the power, passion, and sometimes politics of music ministry.
When he’s not writing, Tracy enjoys time with his family, intense Krav Maga sessions, lifting weights, and striking up meaningful conversations with complete strangers, many of which end up inspiring future scenes or characters. With every story he tells, Tracy hopes to stir hearts, spark healing, and remind readers that even in life’s messiest moments, grace still sings.
